About the Event

The Story Behind My Caribbean Cultural Style Film screening and Q&A - This event will be hosted by Project Zero WF

'The Story Behind My Caribbean Cultural Style' docu-film is a wonderful exploration of Creole Caribbean clothing made with Madras fabrics. After the screening, you are invited to take part in a Q&A session with docu-film star Jennifer Laurent Smart, the film's producer and director, Candy Ellie Graham, and others.

In the docu-film, Cultural Style Week star, Jennifer Laurent-Smart, takes us on a fascinating journey into her passion for Dominican national dress and details the history behind Creole Caribbean Madras clothing. Featuring archive footage and additional interviewees, the docu-film will also explore the origin of Madras clothing, its links to India, Africa, slavery, and its use today.

This event will be hosted by Project Zero WF.
